Guys, someone tell me how do you save energy in my Ultrabook? Using powersave mode when on battery only?

I did a package request for Jupiter applet, as you can see here: https://bugs.sabayon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3453

And recently I've found this one https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396167 on gentoo's bug tracking, As I see it is a request adding it into portage " Reported: 2011-12-27 " and we are in 2012, so I guess for Power applet's things are complicated.

I've also tried to install that "Jupiter applet" thing by hand but I got lost and I haven't succeed with it.
Anyway, if It will be implemented, some time has to pass, as it kinda hard and long way for adapting and way long to configure it .
Till then maybe there are other solutions or better power manager-applets/approaches?
