Sabayon kernel questions

Post by pirieianip » Tue Mar 13, 2012 19:17

Hey Folks,

I was just wondering if sabayon does this or not but when a kernel gets install does it install just the options that can actually be used or is it more of a genkernel?

At the same time, if it isn't a genkernel what is it?

Sincerely,
the gungan

I guess I don't follow, it's a binary package installed via package manager so there is no building of kernel on your end. You use the kernel switcher to change the kernels. As far as what is enabled and what not, check the kernel config.

Show currnt kernel config loaded

Code: Select all

# zcat /proc/config

or save this in your root directory (example...)

Code: Select all

#zcat /proc/config >  /root/config

then you can browse it.
