Changing keyboard layout [Solved]

Postby King_DuckZ » Tue Mar 06, 2012 12:24

Hello everybody, I have recently switched to the programmer dvorak layout, everything is working well in kde but I can't properly configure the rest of my system, namely the shell and kdm.

I followed the instructions on the dvp's site I linked above, but they don''t seem to apply to sabayon, and on the internet every one seems to describe a different technique. Any sabayon/gentoo specific hints?

I finally found how to make the mapping work in kdm. I added the following to my xorg.conf:
Code: Select all
Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "evdev keyboard catchall"
    MatchIsKeyboard "on"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
    Driver "evdev"

    Option "XkbLayout" "us"
    Option "XkbVariant" "dvp"
    Option "XkbOptions" "compose:102,numpad:shift3,kpdl:semi,keypad:atm,caps:shift"
EndSection

Here is the post that helped me out: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=103729
