How to play a Blu-Ray Disc [Solved]

Postby ve9cbc » Sat Jan 21, 2012 17:06

First, here's the machine I have:
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3600+ × 2
Video card: GeForce 6100 nForce 400/PCI/SSE2
OS: 64 bit Sabayon 7

Here's the question I have: I have a Pioneer DVD/CD player/burner, that can also play Blu-Ray DVD. It burns and plays CD and DVD, but it can't play a Blu-Ray DVD. As much as I don't want to install the software disc that came with it (Windows based - ugh!), I have a funny suspicion I may have to. Are there any pkgs that I can download via Entrophy, that will allow me to watch Blu-ray discs? I tried blu-ray in Entrophy, and nothing came up; maybe I typed it in wrong - I'm not sure. If you are able to guide me where or what I have to do, that would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

PS: I just found out how to play Blu-Ray DVD's, after much searching. Below is the link:

Sorry about posting too early. I should have researched it a little better. Oh well, hopefully I have helped someone a lot of grief by doing this.
