are deltas downloaded?

Post by zimbi » Mon Nov 07, 2011 21:23

Hi there,
just testing Sabayon on my old Laptop and cosnodering swithching to it on my main machine. The one thing is that upgrades are really large and take quite long time due to my slow network connection. I do have the following in my /etc/entropy/client.conf:
packages-delta = enable

However each upgrade is pulling .tbz2 files but I belive it should be .edelta files?

So my questions are,
- did I miss something to enable deltas
- if not why aren't they pulled from the repository
- or do not all repos provide delta files?

Thanks for your advice
Frank

Got dev-util/bsdiff installed there?

As a side note, it diffs with whatever binary package tbz you previously installed. So on a fresh system it might not always work. Also never run equo cleanup because that would delete all previously downloaded tarballs and it would make no sense to diff them at that point.
