Same here with XBMC 10.1 update, before base-gcc big updates stop working videos.
Those not play at all.

Code: Select all
>>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...
   ## SPM: Post-installeer fase
 * The current gcc config appears valid, so it will not be
 * automatically switched for you.   If you would like to
 * switch to the newly installed gcc version, do the
 * following:

 * gcc-config x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.5.3
 * source /etc/profile

 * Switching native-compiler to x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.6.2 ...
 * Your gcc has a bug with GCC_SPECS.
 * Please re-emerge gcc.
 * http://bugs.gentoo.org/68395

/usr/bin/gcc-config: line 154: ///usr/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/4.6.2/gcc: No such file or directory
>>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...
 [ ok ]

 * If you have issues with packages unable to locate libstdc++.la,
 * then try running 'fix_libtool_files.sh' on the old gcc versions.

 * You might want to review the GCC upgrade guide when moving between
 * major versions (like 4.2 to 4.3):

Already done, XBMC, ffmpeg libraries, base-gcc 'source /etc/profile'.

[1] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.5.3
[2] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.6.2 *

Still the same issue.

@lxnay regarding gcc-update-issue

runnig weelkly, new gcc was installed during updates and compiler switched to the new version
but while installing sabayon-version as one of the last packages compiler was set back to the old version
isn't this causing the issues?

Code: Select all
>>  ++ (152/169) >>> app-misc/sabayon-version-7-r1
>>    ## Unpacking: app-misc:sabayon-version-7-r1~0.tbz2
>>    ## Installing package: app-misc/sabayon-version-7-r1
>>    ## [Sabayon System Release virtual package]
>>    ## Updating database: app-misc/sabayon-version-7-r1
>>    ## Cleaning previously installed application data.
>>    ## SPM: post-install phase
Switching to python2.7
 * Switching native-compiler to x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.5.3 ...
 --- Unmatch removal atom(s) in /var/lib/layman/sabayon-distro/profiles/package.mask: -~sys-boot/grub-1.99
 --- Unmatch removal atom(s) in /var/lib/layman/sabayon/profiles/package.mask: -~sys-boot/grub-1.99
 >>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...                                      [ ok ]

  * If you intend to use the gcc from the new profile in an already
  * running shell, please remember to do:

  *   . /etc/profile

--- Unmatch removal atom(s) in /var/lib/layman/sabayon-distro/profiles/package.mask: -~sys-boot/grub-1.99
--- Unmatch removal atom(s) in /var/lib/layman/sabayon/profiles/package.mask: -~sys-boot/grub-1.99
>>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...
>>    ## Cleaning: app-misc/sabayon-version-7-r1
