XFCE

Post by Lord_King » Sun Oct 23, 2011 4:22

Hi all.

I decided to install xfce as the default desktop, but the documentation is limited. I want to first change the login screen theme (where you put your username and password), then I want to change the icons and then wish that automatically change the desktop wallpaper.

I hope I can help in Gnome 2 was easier to do this, but xfce is a little harder.

first change the login screen theme
This is lxdm (login shell) theme. Look about lxdm.

Thanks raman, but only change the background, the username and password (box dialog), don´t change, depending of the theme

Themes are located in /usr/share/lxdm/themes
lxdm general configuration file is /etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf file
and the default theme (Sabayon) is looking for its background in /usr/share/backgrounds/, may be you could do some little script to get a random bg each time you boot.

I did some simple modification too in mine: http://forum.sabayon.org/viewtopic.php?p=140863#p140863 but i didn't go deeper. In the lxde official home there is few documentation.
