E17 Desktop Installation

Postby nankura » Sun Sep 18, 2011 6:22

Hey guys

Just a quick question really. ok basically. i have the sabayon CoreCDX iso. and each month i have a download limit :P sucks. its a big download limit. so rolling/bandwith usage usually isnt a problem. but this month i decided to go download a bunch of games, and well u get the idea

Enough about me onto the question

Im wondering how much the easy_e17 installer script downloads. i know E17 isnt that large. but ive only ever done it in archlinux using svn so it was simple binarys with the size info. ( ive only recently decided to move to gentoo/sabayon )

And if the script comes with features like. ive never sabayon E17, but i have used bodhi. so im not sure if sabayon provide profiles/preconfiged bars. modules, etc like bodhi does. which is something id love to see on sabayon/gentoo base

So like. im wondering if i should use the script and if its a small download. or if theres a like "e17-desktop" install package that provides apps, the desktop, and addons/presetup stuff

Hey Nankura,

I have installed E17 from the Sabayon repository. It works fine. But until now I have not find more than the basic desktop. If you want to install apps, addons or themes you can find it here:

http://e17-stuff.org/
or here
http://exchange.enlightenment.org/

kind regards

I used, the EasyE17 script works in Sabayon,
but much more easily you may use the Sulfur installer, and install the Enlightenment packages!

An alternative is use the E17 Daily Build. Go to one of the Sabayon Mirrors, go to the iso/daily directory and download the version that have native E17.
