smooth-tasks [Solved]

Postby raman » Wed Apr 13, 2011 18:47

Do you have some info about smooth-tasks? Still not working with KDE plasma :(
Any news?
Maybe you know some another good app similar to smooth-tasks widget?

I've download Flexible Tasks from: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?co ... fe7a7545d0
Now I do:
Code: Select all
#equo install cmake automoc

Later:
Code: Select all
$cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`kde4-config --prefix`
$make
$sudo make install/strip

The applet is added to applet list. I add him and change option to show only icons.
This is effect:

With some customization:

I notice that the Smooth Tasks widget is working in KDE 4.7. However there is no longer a preview window when I hover the mouse pointer over an icon on the Panel (cf. old screenshots posted by ReemZ in the post Re: Small panel buttons? [Solved]): instead a pop-up bar appears with the name of the window in it. But at least small icons for minimised windows on the Panel are available again, rather than the long bars for minimised windows that the Task Manager widget puts on the Panel.

Greetings,

Fitzcarraldo, I have those previews working in smooth tasks. I wonder, do you have desktop effects enabled and/or the thumbnails effect enabled? And if so, which thumbnail style are you using for smooth tasks? New? classic? etc..

I tried yesterday both with compositing enabled and disabled, but it didn't make any difference. But when I booted up today the previews are working, so it must have just been necessary to restart KDE or X Windows for some reason. Anyway, it's all good now. Nice to have Smooth Tasks back again.

Works here too, even with KDE 4.7.1 (testing it now)
