nvidia-userspace-downloads as ati-userspace [Solved]

Postby DeadlyWolf » Tue Aug 16, 2011 3:44

Current updates for my computer using Entropy include nvidia-userspace 275.09.07 when I start the update it starts to download as ati-userspace not nvidia-userspace. I purged ati drivers and userspace sometime ago after I installed Sabayon. I aborted the update. I do have nvidia driver and nvidia -userspace installed.

Re: nvidia-userspace-275.09.07 downloads as ati-userspace

I remembered that update and have just checked my konsole output. Although the package to be installed is 275.09.07~1 as an update to 275.09.07~0, nothing was downloaded and the original package was reinstalled. All I can say is "curious" as everything is working OK.

Yes it is curious, I will wait and see if joost reads this and advise's that it is OK to update the way it is. I have KDE 4.7 and the latest kernel and it is the best installation of linux I have ever used.

Re: [Solved] nvidia-userspace-downloads as ati-userspace

Solved. I updated only nvidia-userspace first and it downloaded as nvidia -userspace, then I updated all the other updates other than xvba-video. I am now up to date but did not update xvba-video and ati-user-space is not installed.

Installing Nvidia drivers, or trying to, seems to have broken Entropy and now it wont launch.
