Since at least yesterday i have been unable to install anything via sulfur. I select install and when i go to commit actions there is nothing in the que. It wont add anything to install when i tell it to... now today sulfur will not open at all. ...so i tried from the terminal and:

when i try to open sulfur from terminal i get the following errors:

I've just installed the 32 bit version of SL 5.5, (couldn't get the printer to work in the 64 bit version) and Sulfur won't open. I've installed the latest versions (beta 14) I can update and upgrade with the terminal. I also have a problem with PokerTH, not opening, but that's elsewhere.

// Ontopic
FULLY UPGRADE YOUR SYSTEM, THEN CHECK IF PYTHON IS SET TO VERSION 2.7
I hope it is clear now!

// Offtopic - Topic snatching
PokerTH is currently broken in tree ( http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352429 )
I know about it, but since nobody opened a bug for it I don't really care either. :D

As root:

nano /root/pkg-config.sh

#!/bin/sh
if pkg-config "[email protected]" > /dev/null 2>&1 ; then
res=true
else
res=false
fi
pkg-config "[email protected]" | tr -d \\r && $res

Ater that, chmod +x /root/pkg-config.sh

echo "PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/root/pkg-config.sh" >> /etc/make.conf

equo update && equo install --deep entropy equo sulfur gtk+ && equo upgrade && equo conf update && equo deptest && equo libtest

Re: Sulfur wont add to que + Now sulfur [Solved]

I created the file as suggested in the last post by rafaelkafka » Thu May 12, 2011 2:53 and ran the equo command string. upon re-running sulfur, I get the same as in the posting.

I have also checked the Python version "python -v" and it is 2.7 and run
su <---- root password
#eselect python list
#eselect python update

I have also re-installed gtk+

I also have a problem with Magneto which gives a similar error message

========================
solved by equo install --deep pygtk (thanks to micia)

Code: Select all

equo install --deep pygtk

Thanks, I just discovered that. I went to try to learn basic python scripting and it showed how to test for missing modules and pygtk was the one.

Thanks for taking the trouble.

Thank you so much micia! My brother and I were working for hours trying to get my entropy back up since my Sabayon install (number 4 do to issues). right after I typed in your command, and it worked it's magic, I opened up entropy and it popped right up
