Update possible from 3.1 to 3.2?

Post by brest » Wed Nov 22, 2006 20:17

Hi Guys,

i found you at distrowatch and i really enjoy the idea of a gentoo based distribution with a quick installed base system. All reviews about your distro say "It's fast, wonderful looking" and i can't wait to try out.

So, the 3.2 comes at Nov 27th, but i guess i can't wait. So i would d/l the 3.1 now. It seems, that 3.2 have a lot of improvements (hardware recognition and shorter boot time), so here's now my question.

Is it possible to update a running 3.1 to 3.2 which includes all the improvements in boot scripts and all that stuff? So, not just only a portage update but all the other things you've done for the 3.2

I hope you know what i mean :)

thanks a lot ;)

my pc may compile when i'm asleep, so no problem at all :)

I just wondered if it's possible to upgrade later on including all the fine stuff you added (better boot script, improved hardware recognition, not only the portage packages).

So i see that will work then and i'm very happy with that :)

Can't wait for the 3.2 to be completely downloaded, actually 4%

have a nice day

Sweet, downloading it now.
It's only going to take 3 hours compared to if I did FULL night of compiling.
Downloaded it and burned the ISO and it's working great.
Upgrading system now.
