Discussion in general that pertains to Sabayon Linux - Must Pertain to Sabayon Linux
3.2 is based quite a bit off of the ~ archs in portage, but for us to release, it means its "stable" enough not to be breaking on usPaul75 wrote:it is a very good news
a little question : the version is stable and the architecture is for i686 ? and also the programs in i686 ?
we've compiled the chost for i586 due to some problems with lower end computer with i686, we'll be looking into changing that
download it and enjoy manPaul75 wrote:Hello,
Be that this distribution is totally free?
And for the installation of the system and the softwares, it is necessary a lot of time ? (30 minutes, more)
and if you like it, just donate us something via PayPal.
What are i586-i686-i386?????? I have athlon 3200 64bit. Which of the 3 is it then?
They are architectures. Think of it this way every time theres a better processor it goes up. Like from P1 P2 P3 P4. the P4 is i686. The athlon 3200 64-bit is well 64-bit. meaning its not any of the three. it would be x86_64. the others can be thought of as the first number is the "level" of processor and the last two are the type (x86). Thats a way it can be thought of. I'm not very good at explaining things, but I'm trying. This is why I can't be a tutor .
