Problem Installing on RAID 0

Post by imorhi » Fri Nov 05, 2010 3:07

While installing Sabayon 5.4 (x64) KDE and GNome after selecting advanced drives and my RAID volume and typing in all my user information, I select replace other linux partition ( I am dual booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu currently but I don't really like Ubuntu ) after I press next there is an error report and nothing shows up on the install screen. Also during the text installation at the same point it just freezes.

I'm running on an ASUS G50V-A2 with 2 320GB HDDs in RAID 0

Here's the error dump:

Code: Select all
Sorry I had to put it on rapidshare but it's too long to post.

I do not know if it can help you, but time ago I had the same issue with CentOS.
I think Anaconda gets a bit mischievous with the fake-raid ...

In the end I discovered this workaround: use GParted to cleaning and setting the fakeraid partitions where I want to install.
I had to format the partition from GParted, not from the installer!

On another occasion I had a similar problem and was caused by the order of the partitions ... I had to leave the Windows partition as the first!
