Import IE Favorites to Firefox on linux

Postby MAGNET » Mon Oct 16, 2006 3:50

ok, i've been wondering how to do this for like 30 minutes now, did a search on firefox message boards but nothing really answers the direct question. I know it would be just easy to reboot on windows xp then load firefox than import ie favorites to firefox to create the bookmarks.html file, but since linux is the best, i think it could be possible to code a script to create the bookmarks.html file from a directory containing IE Bookmarks.

i dont code at all so could someone code something like for Sabayon linux? i know lotsss of people will found this very handy.. maybe this could become a very popular Firefox script ? 8)

Easy way is have the bookmarks extracted and use a Yahoo or Google account to store them as a backup.

Open IE
Extract bookmarks to desktop as bookmark.html
Open Yahoo or Google account and save
Boot to Linux
Open Firefox (FF)
Open Yahoo/Google and save file to desktop
Import bookmark.html
