The mini edition took me 35 minutes to download at 300-400k/sec... couldn't even upload 1 meg because everyone was downloading at their full speed. I hope to download the dvd edition soon, and I will seed the longer I can :).

With only 12 seeders I had the dvd version in like 5-6 hours. I was at speeds well over 100KB

I was consistently under average, for me 30kb/s was good!

On average how long does it take to downlaod the DVD Sabayon version ?
People say it's long but how long ? I know it's 2 gigs. but it should take only an hour or so right ?

BTW, For those who use RCN,Comcast,Verizon or another major ISP. Did you have to check to see if there were any limits on your downloads?

I took me 8-10 hour via Bitttorrent and about 5-6 hours via FTP when I could get logged in, but I have the DSL speed Cable modem from RCN. I didn't check about any download limits, but I was able to download the DVD version twice. I only did it twice because I accidentally deleted the downloaded ISO.

64 bit DVD DOWNLOAD

Postby mgmguy1 » Fri Nov 03, 2006 16:38

Lastnight I downloaded the x86-64 Edition and I wanted to share some thoughts.
I have RCN cable Service. The first time I downloaded the ISO, I was downloading at 988 kbs. The total downlaod time was 51 minutes But I ran out of room in my "Home directory" so I had to download it again to another location. This time the down load speed was between 688 and 788. That download too 1 hour 15 minutes. When I woke up this morning at 5:30 I Burrned it a DVD and will install it when I get home. I was really happy that it did not take "a-long time to download.

When I go home I am going to plop in the cd. reboot my pc and choose upgrade. But before I do that I am going to back up my config file. Does anyone have anyother suggestions?
