Sabayon 4.2 KDE - K3B problem [Solved]

Sabayon 4.2 KDE - K3B problem [Solved]

I've downloaded Sabayon 5's .iso file and tried to burn it, but error appears :cdrecord has no permission to open the device.
please help, i'm newbie

Worst case scenario (easier in my opinion), run k3b as root.
Best case scenario, change your user permissions to allow access to your cd burner drive (in kuser, I think you need to add your user to some more groups... unfortunately, I don't know exactly which ones do the trick, but at the top of my head, I would say cdrom,cdrw,dvdrom,dvdrw... currently, I don't have a dvd writer on my workstation, so I cannot be more precise).
Another idea (probably faster, but not as easy as mouse clicks as in the above case) would be to change the permissions to your device, that is (as root or with sudo):

chmod 777 /dev/sdb
/dev/sdb is supposed to be your dvd drive... Change it to /dev/sdc, /dev/sdd if necessary (you might need to read a couple of things about drive numbering if you are a linux newbie).

how i can change those permissions?
or how to run k3b as root?
smth like typing in terminal : su then my password,then type k3b?

i've successfully installed Sabayon 5 KDE and I hope that K3B will normally work...

your problem was most likely that your user wasn't in the cdrom group. If this problem persists, post here the output of the command "groups"
