Moderator Edit (May 16, 2012): Note that the thread referring to updating 'world' (viewtopic.php?f=54&t=5531) is not applicable to SL any more, as it predates the invention of the Entropy package manager and was posted in the days when the only package manager for SL was Gentoo's Portage. If you are using SL now then you should not follow the procedure in that thread. Also note that, as the packages in SL installed using the Entropy package manager are binary packages, making any changes to the file make.conf has no effect. The only time changes to make.conf would have an impact is if you were using the Portage package manager to install packages from their source code. Unless you know what you are doing, you should leave make.conf alone as you may end up breaking your installation.

Wolfden, thank you so much for putting out this great info! You seem to put a lot into the community here and it's really helpful.
Re: Resources For You
Thanks for all the information. It is of great help and without it I might not have been able to get everything going.

Re: Resources For You

Re: Resources For You
Thanks a lot. I have a question. I looked at the fresh install guide and worked through it but came across a warning message saying that equo world was deprecated and that I should instead use equo upgrade. That's not really my question because the answer is obvious. What I'm wondering is, is it OK to just use Sulfur for updates? I've noticed the GUI package manager has dramatically improved since the last time I used Sabayon.
Re: Resources For You
Sulfur is what I use......no problems
