Openoffice won't work

Post by 22tara22 » Fri Sep 04, 2009 5:03

whenever I try to open openoffice or open a text document with this program, the loading box briefly appears before disappearing. Any advice?

Please open a console, run oowriter and copy here the output.
Also, tell us what sabayon version you have and if you are fully updated.

I'm pretty sure this is a Java-related problem.

Type this in the command line:

Code: Select all

java-config
Now look at the versions of java that you have, You need an entry with JRE in it. Just enter the corresponding number to select it.
If there is no entry you will neet to install java via the package manager.
