I got the above private message from someone unknown to me with a link that comes up as "under constuction" and have an idea that it is someone trying to send a virus through this forum. Lucky this is Linux.
Any comments?

Does this forum have any anti-spam measures? You can get phpbb mods which will detect spambot registrations and block them.

we're working on fixing it ;) We did have spambot mods, but guess this is new

got it too, didnt understand it and link was broken anyhow...

so basically the bot takes our username and appends it to http://people1000.com/

sad this was my first pm on the forum...

It's too bad that I was stupid and didn't see this thread before clicking that link...that site installed a few viruses on my other computer running windows. Great, it can't be removed :) Thanks for the viruses !

u serious? wow now i cant remember what computer i clicked on the link with. i hope i did it somewhere safe... any info on what you got?

EDIT: just checked my history, seems as though i did it in windows. dont see any affects of any viruses, running a scan now.

odd.....clicking on it gave you viruses? wait...what? using linux and firefox don't get it? :P :P :P

although sorry we weren't able to ban the people quick enough, I hope all goes with with fixing
