Without telling the actual spin you used(I guess KDE?!), system specs(AMD/Nvidia/Intel graphics???), etc..., we could never know.

No problem. I would like to know which version of these configurations work?

My PC1:
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
GeForce GTX 760
DDR3 2x8Gb (1866)

My PC2
AMD A10-7850K
Radeon R7 (APU)
DDR3 2x4Gb (2133)

My PC3
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
AMD HD9650
DDR3 2x4GB (1333)

My NetBook
Samsung N145 Plus
Intel Atom
2Gb

My office PC
Intel Atom
GeForce 630
DDR3 2x2Gb (1333)

In all cases, do not run all 3 versions 14.08, 14.10, 14.11 (KDE & Gnome). Last works for me version 14.05 (KDE).

Did you try this?
https://forum.sabayon.org/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=31925&p=171963&hilit=nomodeset#p171745

And maybe it is helpful, when you choose -nomodeset in the Start menu of Live DVD, by pressing the F5 function key.
I've had same experience and since last versions of SLive, I had to start (and still the latest is affected, too) the live session with the command:
Code: Select all
systemctl start kdm

(for KDE) when you are in terminal as you've posted on your pic.

Ok! Thank you!
systemctl restart kdm - it works!
Why is this happening? What's the problem?
And if the GNOME?

Fox, is not an error...

it is a video driver issue...

the cheat code "nomodeset" is necessary for some ATI videoboards...

you need also to add the word "nomodeset" to the "normal, regular" line of the Boot of the Kernel.

proceed similar as described in the reply 4, in this Home-Page:

All abuse ATI. But I have is Nvidia. There are still 2 PCs with ATI graphics of different generations (this can be seen in the specification). And above all modern distributions with live load, work fine: Calculate, Ubuntu, OpenMandriva, Manjaro, SolydX, Debian, Rosa (and many others). Installed system is operating normally but not always turn off. We have to turn off the console. I think the problem in the setup boot for laptops. For a stationary PC is the problem.
