Gweled aborts

Post by VolvoBirkenstock » Sat Mar 14, 2020 4:03

Hi, Sabayon Gurus.

I recently tried to run "gweled" (a game in the Sabayon distribution) from the Application Launcher and received no response, so I tried to start it from the command line with the following result:

Code: Select all

$ gweled
(gweled:16996): GLib-WARNING **: 22:19:23.448: GError set over the top of a previous GError or uninitialized memory.
This indicates a bug in someone's code. You must ensure an error is NULL before it's set.
The overwriting error message was: Operation not supported
free(): invalid pointer
Aborted (core dumped)
I looked around online (Google is your friend), and it looks like this involves at least one bug, but the bug has been corrected. This looks like Sabayon needs to use a more recent version of librsvg, but I'm not sure because this kind of troubleshooting isn't my forte. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/gweled/+bug/1741664.

Is there some way that I can easily get this fix into Sabayon?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,

According the bug you've posted , >=librsvg-2.42.3 fix the problem.

but not librsvg 2.42.x is in any sabayon repositories or Gentoo repositories

Other versions of librsvg can be found here : layman repositories for gentoo

I don't know the impact for those versions on the system

You can file a bug
