Installation issue Please help [Solved]

Post by sshep » Wed Mar 11, 2020 16:04

I'm trying to install Sabayon_Linux_19.03_amd64_KDE on my laptop a DELL latitude E6410
The installer fails to make partition label. I have tried to manually partition the drive and still it fails to write the changes using the installer. I can manually partition and format using CLI. I decided to try to install the OS using "the gentoo way (according to https://wiki.sabayon.org/index.php?titl ... nux_system)" when i try to mount the root partition to /mnt/sabayon I get the error 'mount point does not exist' while running the live 'CD' I made from the .ISO i downloaded. I'm at a loss as to where to go from here. I tried to use gentoo installation media though I got the same error 'mount point does not exist' Any help would be appreciated.

/mnt/sabayon or others must be created if not exist :D

Code: Select all

# mkdir -p /mnt/sabayon
<do anything>
PS : the wiki page you posted is a bit outdated

The installer fails to make partition label.
The installer doesn't work on some hardware I've seen this same error on one other system.
