Increasing the liveUSB storage size?

Post by koesherbacon » Sun Mar 03, 2019 20:46

Hi Sabayonders. I'm hoping someone can tell me if there's a way to increase the storage space when testing out the liveUSB. On Arch, this can be increased by using this kernel operator when fist booting up: 'cow_spacesize=16G'. It can also be done on the fly with this command:

Code: Select all

sudo mount -o remount,size=16G /run/archiso/cowspace
Using 'pydf' I see that the storage space is called 'LiveOS_rootfs' but I can't figure out where it's actually mounted. Does anyone know of the quivelent kernel parameter or command for Sabayon?

Thanks a bunch!

I have not tried with a LiveUSB, but when using a LiveDVD ISO in a VM under VirtualBox, the following apparently works to increase the size of the Live root partition:

Code: Select all

sabayon ~ # blkid
/dev/loop0: TYPE="squashfs"
/dev/sda1: SEC_TYPE="msdos" UUID="0775-7E71" TYPE="vfat" PARTLABEL="EFI System Partition" PARTUUID="8fa19cd5-2c87-4d98-9b47-8bf67406eaf2"

As you can see above, I increased the size of the Live root partition from 488M to 1.0G.
