locked screen & hibernate (minor) issues

ok, now that the wifi problem is finally sorted :-) there are 2 more less pressing issues that I've had since I installed Sabayon on this Lenovo Ideapad 320.
Kernel is always 4.14 as the more recent ones don't seem to work well on this very finicky machine.

Now, one problem is when the screen is locked, if I hit anything the screen wakes but I'm asked for the password... and it's always, always rejected. I have to switch user, sort of as there's only one user here, and in that window... magick! Password is accepted and I can resume working on the laptop.
Not a terrible thing, but it would be quicker if the password worked without this fake switching. I wonder if it's a known problem, or it's just me (or it0s again a Lenovo thing...).

Another problem is hibernate: there's no way to wake up the laptop from it, also when it's "hibernated" after a few minutes fan starts working and the machine is quite warm. No problems with the suspend, except that I have to "switch" users...

Thanks :-)

Reinstall sys-libs/pam seems to be the trick to fix the lockscreen problem.

Having just installed sabayon ( after a long break), I to have this problem on a desktop, and cannot switch my one user to open, but as I update ( I loaded 18.04 ) I cheated,
