I have problem with building kernel (ERROR: cannot mknod)

Post by Einstok Fair » Thu Dec 28, 2017 13:11

I need to increase the value of MAX_ARG_STRLEN constant to 250000 instead of
linux-4.14.0-sabayon/include/uapi/linux/binfmts.h:#define MAX_ARG_STRLEN (PAGE_SIZE * 32)

I am building it with commands:
layman -a sabayon
equo i sys-apps/v86d
emerge -v =sys-kernel/linux-sabayon-4.14.7

The result is

Code: Select all

*         >> Appending base_layout cpio data...
mknod: console: Operation not permitted
* ERROR: cannot mknod
* -- Grepping log... --
i saw the topic https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1042632.html but didn't understood
how to complete the build?

You need sabayon-sources to build your kernel version

linux-sabayon is pre-package kernel build.
