version GLIBCXX_3.4.21 libstdc++.so.6 [Solved]

Post by richarddjames » Fri Nov 03, 2017 23:22

Project Zomboid (a video game) does not launch on steam. Here's a link to the pastebin :https://pastebin.com/KktL2P9n .
I think the issue is mainly the bit I put on the title and there are several threads on the internet about it but I cant really figure out how to fix it. Thanks for the help.

Re: version GLIBCXX_3.4.21 not defined in file libstdc++.so.

I know that I run into issues with steam not launching now and again and it's usually because steam tries to package up it's own versions of libstdc++ and libgcc that aren't in sync with what we have on our systems.

I've found that I've had to this from time to time:

Code: Select all

find ~/.local/share/Steam/ \( -name "libgcc_s.so*" -o -name "libstdc++.so*" \) -print -delete
I believe that doing this will also fix your problem, even though it presents itself slightly differently from mine.
