After update, no longer authorised... [Solved]

Post by doc_eggfan » Mon Jun 16, 2014 8:19

There's probably an easy fix, but I can't mount external drives anymore. All I've done recently is run the standard weekly updates.

I also seem to have lost my wifi/network signal strength icon from the panel, and it doesn't seem to be available anymore when I go to add it from the list. Internet is working fine though.

I'm using XFCE, not sure what else you need to know.

There is a solution: Re: Permissions problem after last update [Solved]

For me switching back from lxdm to lightdm worked. Without editing anything.

Code: Select all

$ equo q -q installed lightdm
app-admin/eselect-lightdm
x11-misc/lightdm-base
x11-misc/lightdm-gtk-greeter
From console Ctrl+Alt+F1 or F2

Code: Select all

# systemctl disable lxdm.service
# systemctl stop lxdm.service
# systemctl enable lightdm.service
# systemctl reboot

Thanks, that sorted it. I edited the lxdm file, rather than swapping to lightdm
