after update plasma-desktop excess cpu usage, dbus error...

Post by occamshatchet » Tue May 13, 2014 7:39

Hi all. I've only been at this GNU/Linux thing for a few weeks and this is my first post, so apologies if the following info is overkill (or underkill):

Since running this past weekend's update, rebooting, and allowing baloo migrator to do its thing, my cpu has been running about 20-30% capacity at idle. Running "top" in the terminal shows that plasma-desktop is cycling from 5%-ish to 25%-ish every few seconds. So I started to scan the forums and google for clues. In the meantime, f12 quit funtioning (couldn't minimize yakuake). Alt-f2, alt-f7, etc. are also inoperative, but short cuts that I defined are working. Rebooting makes no difference. Eventually, my eyes started bleeding. I came to my senses and went to sabutil menu. Frankly, I don't know what to do about what I've found: X errors and Dbus error(s) in the 3rd and 5th logs below, respectively.

Xorg configuration files:
Pastebin Xorg.0.log:
System & hardware info:
kdm log:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
