Repository update problem

Postby ProjectOne » Fri Jan 03, 2014 20:21

So, i've recently reinstalled Sabayon, since some programs were crashing and to this that, that forum topic is mostly ignored. Anyway, now, even repositories won't update, so i'm pretty much locked out of updating the damn thing.
I swear, ever since trying Sabayon i've hand nothing but problems with it.

Anyway:
Rigo, like 90% of GUIs managed to report " repository update error:".

So i tried in comand line:
equo update
>> Repository sabayon-weekly hasn't been downloaded yet.
>> Repository sabayon-weekly is not available. Cannot validate
>> RepositoryError()
>> !!! Please update your repositories now in order to remove this message!
>> - Resources locked, sleeping...

Same with --force added.

However in /etc/entropy/repositories.conf.d there is a file called entropy_sabayon-weekly.

Now then, tried again with --force. Result:
# equo update --force

>> Repository sabayon-weekly hasn't been downloaded yet.
>> Repository sabayon-weekly is not available. Cannot validate
>> RepositoryError()
>> !!! Please update your repositories now in order to remove this message!

Look in /etc/entropy/repositories.conf and check which official repository you are using (sabayon-weekly, sabayonlinux.org or sabayon-limbo), then use the appropriate mirrorsort command to optimise the mirrors for your location. For example, if you are using the Sabayon Weekly repositories, the command (executed as root user) would be:

Code: Select all
equo repo mirrorsort sabayon-weekly

See SL Wiki - Entropy

Once you have optimised the mirrors, try again to update the Entropy database on your machine.

From rigo, disable and enable again the mirror. :D
