cinnamon and rigo autentication

Post by nomorelogic » Fri Jul 26, 2013 9:10

Hello everyone
I recently installed a sabayon daily downloaded on July 20, 2013.
Everything went well, is a very good distribution: I also installed cinnamon and everything runs. But I have a strange problem with rigo authentication, just in cinnamon session, after an update last night.
Basically, in a cinnamon session, I try to install a new application but password is not accepted. If try same installation with equo, I have no problem.

I tried to do the same thing with a gnome session and this time all works fine.

Can anyone tell me what could be the reason?

Thanks in advance (and forgive my english).

I still have the same problem.
No one besides me has encountered this error?

The error message prompts me to check the log, where can I find it?
thanks

Which password are you using?

The current way is to use your user password with rigo and root password with equo.

Same problem for me. In cinnamon session rigo asks password for user sabayon-mce. In gnome-shell everything works fine with user password.
Any solution for the problem?

password is correct (I use the same for user and for root  )

Edit:
before the last update I did not have this problem

It sounds as though you may have found a bug as other people have reported it too. So the next step is to report it as one and include any logs that you can. It may be worth looking at .xsession-errors (in your home directory - enable "show hidden files)

Be prepared for rapped knuckles over using the same password for user and root. :)

sorry but in my home dir (hidden file enabled) I can't found .xsession-errors file
follow my search

Code: Select all

$ ls -la -R|grep xsession
drwxr-xr-x  3 nomorelogic nomorelogic  4096 25 lug 19.19 lxsession
./.config/lxsession:
./.config/lxsession/LXDE:

other tips to find log?

You missed the . The file name is ".xsession-errors" I normally just look in the directory with my file manager (in my case that's dolphin).

I really can't find this file...
I use systemd, perhaps this is the reason why I can not find it?

It isn't connected with systemd. Just out of curiosity I installed cinnamon, logged into it, opened nemo, selected to view hidden files and there it was. The file is created when "X" is used so I cannot understand why you can't find it.
