GRUB2 chainloader sabayon

Post by hotvic » Sat Jul 20, 2013 20:43

Currently I've Arch Linux with GRUB2, then I want to Arch Linux's GRUB2 chainloader the Sabayon's GRUB.

Tried this:

Code: Select all

menuentry "Sabayon 13.04 x86 MATE" {
    insmod lvm
    set root=(lvm/Vol0-sabayon)
    chainloader +1
}
but doesn't work, give me "error: invalid signature."

Thanks in advance.

why do you want to chain load ?
If you want to keep arch as primary boot, boot arch and then issue
grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
grub-install

It will add sabayon entry.
If in the log you dont see gentoo based system, mount sabayon part and re-issue the command.

btw I dont know how to specify lvm volume from grub but check : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GRUB#LVM

I like manually create GRUB entries (from /etc/grub.d/40_custom), so chainload Sabayon's GRUB will be more clean
