unable to login, after updating

Postby mysaba » Mon Mar 25, 2013 7:11

Hi

I'm using the Xfce release 11. After a fresh install I used Rigo to get all the updates (about 140).

At the end I rebooted. Unfortunately, after that I could't login anymore. After prompting the user name/password, the system enters into the desktop environment, but just for only a couple of minutes. After that, it goes back again to the login screen.

Though, as root, I can login normally. While as root I created a new user and tried to login with it. It happened the same as above.

Dunno exactly what's happening to your system, but I never see a lot of errors (aka (EE)) in Xorg.0.log about libraries ( /lib64/libc.so.6) and binaries (/usr/bin/X).
Is your Sabayon a VBox's guest?
Try
Code: Select all
# equo lt
Image

Ok, Thank you.
After these logs, I tried to reinstall, as root, Xorg, Xfce and some conf files, but with no avail.
I'll have a look under a Vbox.
