Akonadi and sql [Solved]

Postby kage » Sun Mar 10, 2013 14:58

Hi,

When i installed Saba 11kde i noticed that akonadi crashed when starting kontact. it gave the following message concerning the database:

Akonadi Server Self-Test Report
===============================

Test 1: ERROR
--------

Database driver not found.
Details: The QtSQL driver 'QSQLITE3' is required by your current Akonadi server configuration.
The following drivers are installed: QSQLITE, QMYSQL3, QMYSQL.
Make sure the required driver is installed.

So i fired Rigo up to get QSQLITE3 installed.
Yhe package however is nowhere to be found.

How do i get this particular package?

Think you'll find that will be fixed in the update to 4.10.1, which is happening right now, so I would hang tight.

I don't think it's an issue related specifically with Sabayon. If you search on Google the string you posted
The QtSQL driver 'QSQLITE3' is required by your current Akonadi server configuration.
then you'll find a lot of links about. If you have more trouble or you don't understand how to proceed, keep asking here!

Thnx,

And you are right: it's not a Saba problem. I assumed (mybad) that because I had freshly installed Saba 11 when the probs occured.

Fixed it by changing the akonadi config to mysql

Today I've downloaded the latest KDE Daily Build. This includes the 4.10.1 version of KDE.
I started to test with USB-Live stick and probed serveral topics with it.
So, also launching KOrganizer, which uses Akonadi (Server).
To cut a longshort story: KOrganizer and Akonadi-Server work out of the box. No need to change standard settings.
I could launch KOrganizer, then add a calendar (here my Google) and after login in Google account, I could choose my favourite calendars to show in KOrganizer.
I think, there was a mismatch while migrate from KDE 4.9.5 to 4.10.0 and 4.10.1.
So, my conclusion is: If possible, do a clean new (re)install with at least that Daily Build from 10/03/2013,
then most problems and much upgrade work and time are not necessary do be done.
Tomorrow then, I will install that new Daily Build on my notebook. Scratch my KDE 4.9.5 system and after formatting, install SL again. In my last Backup I have all settings and files from my home directory. So I can recreate my home step by step ...
Thank you all for caring this akonadi topic here, and in the my own thread I opened before.

I really hope, that by the Brexit (poor Britain), TTIP will be finally prevented. But don't get tired to talk to your local politician to open eyes for danger to democracy because of TTIP
