Postby makav3li » Sun Mar 03, 2013 1:09

Hi, this is my second time i installed Sabayon 11 Gnome 3.6.2 ,everything is working great and i am really enjoying this OS ,the only problem I have is how to install ati-drivers-13.1 on 3.7.0 kernel, first time i installed Sabayon i installed latest ati-amd drivers , i did eselect opengl set ati but i didn't knew how to set "nomodeset" to boot parameters and after that I couldn't boot into system anymore,I believe that X server failed somewhere, so I decided to install it again, now i am using the open source driver which was installed with the system, this is some info about my graphic card

I would really appreciate if someone could explain it to me how to install those drivers and set "nomodeset" to my boot parameters, thnx .....

Add nomodeset variable to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="" that you can find in /etc/default/grub then
Code: Select all
# grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Sorry, in many other distros grub2 is now grub. But... We're not speaking of many other distros!
