Bugs go there --> https://bugs.sabayon.org/ ...easy enough to do , take your time and follow your nose and submit.

But I do wonder what the outcome of installing from portage gives you. I mean, on the odd occasion I need to get a more up to date version of something I'll use portage until that version becomes available in entropy. Then I'll remove the portage version and install the new entropy version.

Whe I run equo deptest, I am told the packages are missing and that they will be downloaded. However after 10 seconds I am told packages cannot be found.

That is because these packages have been dropped from tree some time ago.
I guess you should update the repository info by running as root:
Code: Select all
equo update --force

@joost

Thanks for the advice but it seems not to work.

I tried equo update --force.

After equo deptest I still get:

spikeyb spikeyb # equo deptest
>> @@ Running dependency test...
>> @@ These are the dependencies not found:
>> # >=net-libs/libnice-0.1.0[gstreamer]
>> # Needed by:
>> # net-libs/farstream-0.1.2-r1
>> # >=app-admin/eselect-boost-0.3
>> # Needed by:
>> # dev-libs/boost-1.46.1-r1
>> @@ Installing available packages in 10 seconds ...
>> No packages found.
(1, False)

It's not a problem for me, just odd.

@ Butch Cassidy

Not sure about portage, as it can't find libreoffice:

spikeyb spikeyb # emerge --search libreoffice
Searching...
[ Results for search key : libreoffice ]
[ Applications found : 0 ]

Thanks for your continued help.

Better get equo update --force sorted before you start preparing portage. You sure you ran equo update as root (su) ?

@Butch Cassidy

Yes, definitely as su as shown by the # symbol.

Looks like I may be out of luck on this one. Thanks for your ideas.

Then you might as well try installing from portage. So if you follow the Sabayon wiki let's see what you get. You can use the package search to check "=packagecategory/packagename-version"

If you don't get what you want I'd be tempted to install one of the daily images.

Is there some similarity with viewtopic.php?f=59&t=28890&p=158140#p158140 ?

@Butch Cassidy

I will try your suggestion and report back over the weekend.

@ignition

It is similar but the message is different. I have uninstalled LO at ther moment and will retry the install with portage.

I had a similar problem which was resolved after deleting /.config/libreoffice in my home-directory.
