[Work Around] checksums do not match

Postby lexonight » Mon Jan 07, 2013 6:26

I have read everything and when i goto update my sabayon distribution i still get checksums don't match, then it downloads from 7 kbs a second. just wondering how the checksums are calculated? i know how to hash a file using sha-1, md5sum and all that. Just wondering why it is such a chore to update. if you need more info let me know.

You may find this helps:

Try these;

Code: Select all
equo remove sulfur
Code: Select all
equo install entropy --relaxed
Code: Select all
equo install rigo
Code: Select all
equo upgrade --ask

it seems that the checksums for x11-libs/gtk+-3.4.4 and other gtk related packages are bad, well on my comp they are, i tried what was offered, ty. Still hicupping on gtk+. Guess time will tell.

It might be worth doing

Code: Select all
equo update --force

I should really have added that in my previous post after

Code: Select all
equo remove sulfur

yeah, i did the equo update --force, before. i'll try it again. Even did the a
Code: Select all
equo upgrade --relaxed --fetch
, then just upgrade after all packages were downloaded. Even a fun
Code: Select all
equo mirrorsort sabayon-weekly
, sulfur's not installed. I might change the repository to sabayonlinux.org, from my understanding the sabayon-weekly is just updated on mondays as oppossed to the sabayonlinux.org which is daily. I'll try that tonight

>>  ## [U] [sabayonlinux.org] x11-libs/gtk+-2.24.14|1   [2.24.10-r1|1]

the checksum error on upgrade
Code: Select all
>>  ::: >>>  (11/147) 3 packages
>>    ## Package checksum matches: dev-libs:json-c-0.9-r1~1.tbz2
>>    ## Package checksum matches: media-libs:sbc-1.0~0.tbz2

:lol:

I'm afraid I'm stumped for any other suggestions but I would think that you may be better off sticking with sabayon-weekly as, hopefully, any problems have shown up by then.
