CoreCDX Repo Not Available Error Issue [Solved]

Postby Butch Cassidy » Tue Dec 11, 2012 14:50

I went down this road a few months ago for a friend and posted about it, and got as far as it could possibly be a network manager issue (package missing). Some said the same disk worked fine and installed a DE no problem.

This time it's my home system and I get the same, I also checked the packages list for CoreCDX this time round and I see a network manager listed under net /misc.

Anyway, here's what I get after I've installed CoreCDX with Fluxbox and use xterm. I type:

equo install kde-meta

Repository Sabayon-weekly hasn't been downloaded yet

Repository Sabayon-weekly is not available, cannot validate

Repository Error!!!

Please update your Repository now in order to remove this message

Repository are old, please run equo update

equo update

Which repeats the same messages above but adds..

@@app-admin/rigo-daemon not installed. Update not allowed

org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Services Unknown: the name org.sabayon.rigo was not provided by any service files

Which all seems to fit if you have no internet connection but I could also be missing something really simple. I'd like to get to the bottom of this and would like to install KDE with this method. Thanks.

Did you use the current iso? I just booted the live cd (amd64) and it worked without any problems.

That's interesting and good to know, creh. Yes, I downloaded a brand new ISO (amd64) this morning.

I'm wondering if I'm missing some extra syntax somewhere but as far as I know what i put should do it.

There should be nothing wrong with the syntax you posted. I used the same (I added -a to equo install kde-meta)

Edit: Did you do this as root?

I thought I did but now you've got me thinking. I take it it has to be done in root?

equo update works as user but i think you need rigo-daemon for that (which isn't on the iso)
to install you have to be root

I'll go back into the install and double check and try again. Thanks for replying btw, second pair of eyes is always good.

I managed to get an equo update late last night (whatever time it was). And it finally installed on the third attempt this morning, got a few glitches (Rigo now won't launch) here and there but I'll post those separately. :p

Still have no idea why the glitches but I'll mark it solved.
