Problem with packages signatures [Solved]

Post by hafron » Sun Nov 20, 2011 17:53

I'm quite experienced Linux user however I'm completly new to Sabayon. I've also never used Gentoo or any Gentoo based distribution. So, I've very annoying trouble. I tried to solve it myself already but without result. When I tried to upgrade my system(to managed packages I use Entropy Store) or install new packages I SOMETIMES following error:
## Package signature: GPG does not match the recorded one
or:
## Package signature: SHA1 does not match the recorded one
It happens for example when I'm trying to install icecat - all it deps downloads fine only icecat package throws an error.
If you need any additional informations let me know.

sounds like your data base is not fully updated. I would follow this guide and update your system, starting with equo update --force to be sure your db is fully updated, then post back if you still get the error.

I tried to upgrade my system and this time I followed "Fresh Install - What to do?" from page you've given me. Unfortunately it doesn't help. After successful download of several packages I ended with following error code(I'm translating error messages from Polish - so it may not be exactly the same as original English ones):

>> ## Downloading: 1 archives

I had reinstalled the system and carefully followed https://wiki.sabayon.org/index.php?titl ... t_to_do.3F and I've still had the same trouble - some packages downloads fine but some others cannot match SHA1 or GPG. I'll wait several days but if the problem continues, I will have to switch to another Linux distro. But I really want to stand Sabayon, so please help me.

Ok I will try to help, am scratching my head though ..... usually this type of error is because it is not fully downloaded to your mirror ... some sort of mismatch in package ... I dunno why after this time it is still failing, no one else is reporting it.
So lets start with your mirrors. We already tried equo update --force
I show you this link from the sabayon wiki
https://wiki.sabayon.org/index.php?titl ... es_mirrors
This command will sort your mirrors, choose fastest and best for your location.

Code: Select all

equo repo mirrorsort sabayon-weekly
It depends on what version sabayon you installed as to what mirrors you are using, if that command gives an error, then try this command

Code: Select all

equo repo mirrorsort sabayonlinux.org
The different mirrors are caused from downloading stable or a daily iso and needs a separate command to sort them.
If you try one and is wrong, will simply spit error that not found .... try the other and no harm done.

I would also like to see a copy of your repositories.conf

Code: Select all

cat /etc/entropy/repositories.conf |pastebunz
this will produce a link, if you post it here it will let us see it. I can only see this as a mirror error at this time, I have other ideas, but post back the results and go from there.

I've run:

Code: Select all

equo repo mirrorsort sabayon-weekly && equo update --force && equo upgrade

Still no effect. Problem is caused by sys-kernel:linux-sabayon-3.1-r1~0.tbz2 - package. What is interesting I've read that kernel cannot be updated this way. What is more, when I downloading this package from http://ftp.surfnet.nl - equo says thet GPG doesn't match. But when I've download this package from http://ftp.sh.cvut.cz - GPG matches but SHA1 no.
Here is link to my /etc/entropy/repositories.conf file: http://pastebin.sabayon.org/pastie/7685

Looking at your repositories.conf, I do not see any repositories listed :?
Looking like an easy fix, just need to add the repos ... but question is, why do you not have them?
Is a few ways to fix this, most easy way is to

Code: Select all

cp /etc/entropy/repositories.conf.backup /etc/entropy/repositories.conf

Code: Select all

equo update --force
entropy has the .backup if ever needed, you could go here
https://wiki.sabayon.org/index.php?titl ... es_mirrors
Just copy and paste them into your current file, Since it is kinda borked anyways ..I might prefer to use the .backup file
Here is a copy of mine, you can spot the difference right away with the list of available repos. With mine you will see I am using main sabayonlinux.org| and sabayon-limbo. I do not suggest limbo as it is testing repos,
The choices you have are sabayonlinux.org once you add those to your repositories.conf file it should work fine.
You have the option to edit them and change to sabayonlinux.weekly
This will be a bit more stable, I would simply cp .backup or ad the repos in the list, see if it works, then edit to weekly if you want later.

Code: Select all

Project Entropy 1.0 repositories configuration file

I'll never excepted that this causes my trouble but your post reminded me that I was playing with overclocking my CPU. So, I restored BIOS default settings and what really suprised Sabayon was upgraded without any errors.
Thank you everyone for help. I stay at Sabayon. 8)
