Re: BOINC again

in the boinc config put /var/lib/boinc/lockfile in work directory (for permissions reason)

net-misc/curl must be compiled with "-gnutls" useflag

USE="-gnutls" emerge net-misc/curl
# fails configure with error [1]
past here full error log.

Again, my apologies for the slow response (and many, many thanks for your help)

The output of emerge --info =net-misc/curl-7.21.7-r2 is at http://pastebin.com/b3VnXFXm
The output of emerge -pqv =net-misc/curl-7.21.7-r2 is at http://pastebin.com/EdqQDs5j
The build log is at http://pastebin.com/NcwVNsRj
And, finally, the ebuild environment is at http://pastebin.com/TEVcnVg0

Hopefully, somewhere in there, is the answer to my problem :-)

Ok

I think you compile curl with "threads" useflag enable also

see error output

Code: Select all

The above constraints are a subset of the following complete expression:
    threads? ( !ares ) gnutls? ( ssl ) nss? ( ssl ) nss? ( !gnutls )

Code: Select all

# echo "net-misc/curl -gnutls threads" >> /etc/portage/package.use

Adding threads makes no difference, I'm afraid - the configure fails at exactly the same point.

I don't think I want to spend more time trying to get this to work, I'm just going to move on and, hopefully, come back to Sabayon in a while to see if I can get Boinc working for me.

Many thanks for your help, it is appreciated.

:(

I suggest you to download Boinc from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php (choose for your OS version)

and runs it from its script .

BOINC-Client works fine on my gentoo and sabayon systems (Boinc compiled from portage)
