Package request, Gentoo-Portage.com is down [Solved]

Post by ddeimeke » Mon Aug 22, 2011 8:52

Hi,

how can I request software to be packaged, when Gentoo-Portage.com is down (like it is now)?

I want to request an upgrade of Miro to the recent version (I migrated my last computer to Sabayon and it had a more recent version, migrated data is useless) and I want fatsort (sorting files on FAT filesystems, i.e. mp3-players) to be included in Sabayon.

Cheers

Dirk

Hi,

Official Gentoo packages site is packages.gentoo.org.
So I think You can use it :)

Have a nice day,

oh, you meant how do you get a Gentoo ebuild for the package request (I should sleep more), I usually search, using google or any search engine:
<package name> portage
or
<package name> Gentoo
it will usually find out the ebuild in sites like the ones reported above or any ebuild on Gentoo Bugzilla

When I don't have to make a package request, I use the same link provided by Joost.

Hi guys,

thanks a lot for your input. Especially Joost, thanks for implementing.

If you need a request to monitor, please tell me, I will raise it.

Thanks

True for "latest in Gentoo" (4.0.1), false for "latest on getmiro.com" (4.0.3).
