Error loading operating system after installation [Solved]

Postby KenWeiLL » Mon May 03, 2010 10:09

I have just finished installing Sabayon 5.2 GNOME from livedvd with:

/boot
/
/home
swap

in separate partitions. i've setup password for grub.

Reached the window "installation completed" or something like that, that prompts to reboot or to continue using the livedvd. i pressed reboot and ended up with "Error loading operating system" on reboot.

How do i fix this? Do I have to reinstall again?

There is an option to "rescue" an installation by loading the DVD and going through the install process until just before selecting "install". Or you may find it useful to download and try Super Grub Disc http://www.supergrubdisk.org/ (always a useful tool to have).

Problem solved.

I've reinstalled and now its booting... I have other problems, networking problems. I think i'll have to open a new thread for this one.
