Problems with nvidiadrivers

Postby dark_server » Thu Mar 25, 2010 1:31

I recently installed sabayon, installed the nvidia legacy drivers for my kernel (sabayon 2.6.33-sabayon) and edited the xorg.conf to use nvidia driver instead of nv, but when i start x server it tells me that cannon load dri and dri2 modules, also tried the solution in this topic http://forum.sabayonlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=86&t=18302&start=0 but it doesnt seems to work, im using a nvidia geforce4 420 go card, eselect kernel list gives me
Code: Select all
eselect kernel list
Available kernel symlink targets:
  [1]   linux-2.6.31-sabayon
  [2]   linux-2.6.33-sabayon *

am i missing something? anyway thanks for your time and help

Backup your xorg.conf and delete every xorg-data in "/etc/X11/". Reboot...
The auto-detection should give you now a better xorg.conf to deal with...

nope, it autoconfigures the xorg.conf file to use the nvidia driver, but still asking me for dri and dri2 modules, i think ill use another distro
