So far I've learned a lot. My optical drive can only write so I followed the instructions to make a bootable usb drive as found in the wiki. I booted into the ash shell and copied the contents of isolinux to (hd0,0). Now I can boot off the hard drive, but Sabayon can't access/create certain files as the system seems to be read-only. So, it kind of works in that I get a nice splash screen and a prompt asking me for Sabayon login: , and a password. I can no longer figure out what to do at this point - id: sabayonuser pwd: sabayonuser & id: root pwd:root, do nothing. So how can I get this baby up and running?
There is no PW, use root and than just hit enter. Are you using core cd? I am not sure what you did. But using unetbootin to create a bootable usb pen is very easy and if you use the K or G iso version you will get a X for install.
