Gnome menu missing

Postby kryr » Sat Feb 13, 2010 23:14

Hello,

My gnome "applications" menu is empty :( I tried to migrate my old settings (from other distro) into my new sabayon box and I guess something went wrong with it. I copied settings files from my old home directory and uninstalled couple of packages. I'm not sure if I uninstalled some required package (there was no dependency warnings) or done something bad with the settings.
I tried to create new user, it get's the default settings but the "applications" menu is still empty :(
I'm still able to run applications using Gnome Do.

help! ;)

I've done:
cp /etc/xdg/menus/gnome-applications.menu ~/.config/menus/applications.menu
and the menu is back.
However I'm not sure if it's the right way to do it.
