open a terminal, run alsamixer, use the arrows to select channels and turn volume up and down. look at the bottom of each slider, if there is MM the channel is muted. Unmute it by pressing 'm'. Master/PCM/Front bring all those up and unmuted.

First try the following as root in a terminal, type
Code: Select all
alsaconf

Hit enter, select the hda-intel sound card & then answer yes to all the next questions.
Then as root in terminal run
Code: Select all
alsamixer

Check your volumes levels again & muted channels then test your sound again.
If all that fails then your chipset model ALC883 is supported in this wiki:
http://wiki.sabayon.org/index.php?title ... ound_Cards
follow the wiki directions & read the edits at bottom of page before saving your settings.
Also if you run alsaconf again after these modifications they will be lost as your etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf file will be reset to default.

Hey,

Im really a noob...
when i type "alsaconf" the system gives me this message "-bash: alsaconf: command not found"
But the problem is solved!!!!
I runed alsamixer (like you guys said) and i configured the sound. The problem was in xmbc settings. My sound was configured to digital and not analog. Now the sound is great! Thanks a lot guys!
