conectar 2 monitores? (SOLUCIONADO!!!)

Estoy pensando acquirir otro monitor para asi tener 2 monitores en la misma pc.

Tendría problemas al configurar los 2 monitores en sabayon? seria muy consola trabajoso?

esa es mi pregunta, tengo un monitor de 19 plano, y quiero agregar otro de 17, para trabajar mas comodo. he leido que se puede en linux, pero cuales son los pasos a seguir?

veo que en red hat, centos y derivados tienen el: system-config-display
que seria como un display settings, o un centro de control de pantalla o algo asi, tenemos algo asi y grafico en sabayon? o tenemos que irnos al xorg y esas cosas?

Yo te hablo desde mi experiencia.

Con las tarjetas Nvidia con sus drivers propietarios puedes configurar dos monitores de forma fácil y totalmente efectiva.

Con ATI ni idea, pero viendo los resultados de los últimos drivers ATI de desaconsejo una ATI para trabajar con Linux.

jey! yo tengo una tarjeta nvidia, y sabayon funciona perfecta con ella, ya estoy bajando la 3.3, je je je

mi tarjeta es una 7300 gs de 128 pci-e con dos salidas: una vga y otra digital DVI, asi que pienso que se pueden conectar cada monitor a cada salida...

como puedo configurarlo con los drivers nvidia?

Por si aun les interesa, en una ati tambien se puede con los driver propietarios, sin embargo a algunas personas (como a mi por ejemplo les ha dado problema el ati control panel), pero solo es cuestion de bajarte unos nuevos drivers, instalarlos y listo, el unico problema es que no te funciona con xgl activado.

Fijate si podés configurar la salida de los monitores en el centro de control, o sino busca con alguna otra distro para ver como hicieron.
En caso de no tener suerte volvé y vemos que hacemos.

bueno chicos! he adquirido mi segundo monitor, y probando los drivers de nvidia - settings me reconoce los monitores y todo bien, pero cuando reinicio se me quita la configuracion que puedo hacer?? 8)

Hola mostranos como tenés configurado tu xorg.conf cuando conectás los dos monitores y funcionan y cuando reinicias la pc y no te lo reconoce. Es decir para ver si existe alguna diferencia.
También decinos que sabayon usas, si la mini o la full y que librerias de nvidia instalaste, que placa de video.

Hola, corregime si no me equivoco, ahí tenés tu configuración como "vesa", no?
Y tus monitores que marca son? Porque me parece que no los tenés identificados ahí, o sea los tenés como genéricos.
Te paso mi xorg.conf con una placa de video nvidia geforce 6200 de 256 y un monitor Samsung SyncMaster 793s.
