Upgrading on sabayon-weekly stops at an unsatisfied dependency.
Something is pulling dev-java/icedtea-bin:8 which is not available in Entropy.

have you used portaged and pulled it?

does running show anything?
Code: Select all
equo query revdeps icedtea-bin

icedtea is in entropy, maybe uninstall the bin and install the other. How old is your installation?

Yea I figured it had to be old as we use to have the bin package in entropy.

You should be able to uninstall all the packages than install icedtea, it should not pull the bin file.

Code: Select all
 equo rm dev-java/icedtea-bin

Code: Select all
equo install dev-java/icedtea

It seems icetea-bin is back in entropy

I don't know why it's called icedtea-bin-3, certainly not following the previous icedtea naming conventions, but it does indeed provide the pre-release of openjdk 8.

Doesn't work as I'm on weekly.

wolfden wrote:It seems icetea-bin is back in entropy

Wasn't there when I checked yesterday, it appeared just lately: 2016-03-28.

A Gentoo-made binary build of the IcedTea JDK
binary → standard → sabayonlinux.org → amd64 → 5 | revision: 0 | date: 2016-03-28

Anyway it's missing in weekly, so it seems something went wrong in the Entropy repo chain.
I have sent a greeting to the entropy-team, so they are aware of it https://bugs.sabayon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5184.

Pulled icetea-bin manually from the web and now the upgrade runs OK. Thank you for your help.

For those with the same issue:
