Check for update

Post by Lazydog » Fri Jun 26, 2015 15:45

Hello,

I'm looking for a quick way to check for updates.

With YUM I just need to do "yum check-updates" and it gives me a list
What is the equivalent with equo?

Thanks for the reply.

I know this one the problem is it sit there and waits. The YUM command just shows what's available and then exits.

Code: Select all

echo "n" | equo upgrade --ask
This will pass the answer "n" to the command and it will exit.

The '--pretend' flag should work.

Code: Select all

equo upgrade --pretend
Use '--ask' as well the first time around, to make sure it's right.

While I may not always have the correct solution, my input could lead you in the right direction...
If you don't know what a command does, then type 'man <command>' or '<command> --help' to find out.
