Post by LadyLuck » Mon Jun 01, 2015 23:39

Any chance of the "notebook" (Ipython) showing up in the near future? :D

You are asking for dev-python/ipython to be build with the notebook use flag enabled?

I am wondering if the "Notebook" module for the Ipython (interactive python) shell, will be available for install via RIGO or Equo. I managed to add things like scipy (equo install ipython scipy) but not notebook. Presumably because I am doing something wrong or it is not in the repositories.
The IPython Notebook is an interactive computational environment, in which you can combine code execution, rich text, mathematics, plots and rich media
Cheers and thanks for your reply

So I guess this is now solved. I eventually stumbled onto doing the right thing. In my case installing
pip
and then jsonschema module
pip3.4 install jsonschema
seems to have been instrumental in getting ipython notebook running.

That is a good suggestion, however I feel a bit like a "drunken sailor" and I am not sure I could reproduce the path I took and I'm sure I did not take the shortest path. I will give it some thought on an upcoming rainy day!
